However, getting started online with social media, in general, can be extremely testing, to say the least. Especially when you don’t have any previous experience.
If you wanna build a successful affiliate marketing Biz in the modern era, then it’s crucial that you understand the fundamentals of social media marketing because it will give you the upper hand when it comes to your competitors.
So, I’ve listed 10 laws of social media that you need to know as a marketer for expanding your reach and growing your brand.

#1: Law of ‘Focus’
Instead of trying to be the jack of all trades, it’s best to specialize in one social marketing area because by being laser-focused, it’s gonna put you in a much stronger position to succeed.
When your strategy is too broad, it’s gonna be all things to all people.
Your marketing would basically be all over the place like a mad woman’s breakfast!
#2: Law of ‘Listening’
When it comes to succeeding with social media, it will require you to do a lot more listening and lot less talking.
You must take the time to read your target audiences content, engage in conversations, and learn what’s the most important to them.
Because it will allow you to create content that’s beneficial to your followers and potential customers rather than cluttering their news feeds with your posts promoting the “latest and greatest” Biz Opps and products.
#3: Law of ‘Patience’
Unfortunately, online success doesn’t happen overnight.
This doesn’t just apply to social media, but also to any digital marketing technique.
Yeah, you might experience a sudden burst of success on social media from time-to-time, but you’re gonna have to play the long game for a super profitable affiliate empire.
#4: Law of ‘Quality’
Quality will always trump quantity when it comes to your actual followers.
What’s the better option?
1,000 followers, who connect and engage with you and your posts on a regular basis?
10,000 followers, who connect with you only one-time and pay absolutely zero attention to anything you share?
We have all seen marketers with thousands of followers on various profiles, but sometimes you will find little to no engagement from their followers.
So having a whole bunch of “duds” following you really has no impact on your business, whatsoever.
In one of Gary Vaynerchuk’s videos, he said something along the lines of: “It’s not about how many followers you have. It’s about how many people actually care“.
No truer word has ever been said!
#5: Law of ‘Influence’
Spending time locating the right influencers in your niche who have “quality” followers are gonna be much more likely to show an interest in any affiliate products and services that you’re promoting.
Take the time to connect with influencers and build relationships because it can have a massive positive effect on your business in the long run.

If the majority of your time is invested into creating post-after-post for promoting your products and services, then folks are simply gonna stop listening because people hate being sold to.
You will be portrayed as just another “spammer” abusing social media in an attempt to exploit others.
Unfortunately, a number of Network Marketers tend to “spam” their followers with Biz Opps and products/services.
Sometimes you may also receive the odd PM asking if you and your family/friends wanna join their team and buy products. UGH!
It’s just the completely wrong approach to building a business using social media. Period.

So how do you separate yourself from some of these so-called business owners?
As an affiliate marketer, you must focus on creating content that adds value and also concentrate on building relationships with your audience through active engagement on your posts as well as theirs.
Providing real value will pay big dividends.
#8: Law of ‘Accessibility’
Don’t simply just publish your content and go AWOL lol.
Be Always available for your followers.
You must actively participate in posting content and engaging with your audience by replying to any comments and answering their questions.
Engagement is vital, especially when it’s done in a timely manner, otherwise your followers will dump you in an instant for your competitors.
#9: Law of ‘Acknowledgment’
You would never ignore anyone who chooses to reach out to you in person, so it’s not a wise idea to ignore your audience on the web.
Relationship building plays a key role in social media success, so always acknowledge every guy or gal who reaches out to you to say “Hello” or needs your help.
At the end of the day, you’re building a “people” business. Without people, you have no affiliate commissions. Simples.
#10: Law of ‘Reciprocity’
You can’t expect others to share your content and discuss your brand with their followers if you don’t return the favor.
So a small chunk of your time on a daily basis should be spent sharing others stuff. The more stuff you re-share, the more yours will be shared for big exposure.
I guess you could also class this as a”Pay it Forward” strategy.

There’s a lot that goes into social media marketing and it can be a time-consuming process, especially when you consider how many different platforms there are.
But if you throw your whole self into social media and apply the 10 laws I’ve shared in this article, it can turn out to be a highly effective strategy for making a lot of money on the web as an affiliate marketer.
So it will definitely be worth your effort and time!
