Within this article, I want to share with you how to use other people’s content to get more customers from your internet-based affiliate business.
The most impactful strategy that you can perform on the web is to read interesting and insightful stuff you find and then tell folks in your target market what you like best about it.
It’s one of the techniques I’m also using on this blog, and it’s working! 🙂
Whether you want to beat your competitors, you’re looking for a way to build your authority (something that’s taught inside Wealthy Affiliate and also discussed in Russell Brunson’s free ‘Expert Secrets’ book), and/or you want to get more email newsletter subscribers…
The best path that’s proven to work is called “content curation“.
Dive into my article to learn how it can benefit you and your biz…
What is Content Curation?
Simply put, content curation is the process of finding awesome content on the web and sharing it with your targeted audience. The easy part is finding the content (if you know where to look).
But the difficult part can be creating your strategy because a lot of hard work is involved with niche blogging, YouTube videos, Podcasting, and any other content-based platform.
I will let you into a little secret, but SHH…
One of the biggest hidden secrets of curation experts is that they simply curate from curators!
Some internet marketers subscribe to email newsletters that are jam-packed with website article links from other content marketers in their niche market. They then handpick popular articles for growing their own online businesses and generating a big income.
Below are 2 resources you can use for signing up for such newsletters.
#1 – inbound
inbound is a great resource if you’re in the digital marketing industry. The guys behind the program find and deliver the best marketing articles to your email inbox. They basically do all the legwork for you.
The program works in 3 easy steps:
- You sign up for a free account
- Choose the topics that you want more info on
- Receive a daily or weekly digest of emails
#2 – theSkimm
theSkimm is more for online marketers in every type of niche, but it’s also another great site for opting in for email newsletters on marketing topics.
How it works is also simple. They break down everything that’s happening in the world with fresh editorial content sent to your inbox. They read. You skim.
TOP Secret Weapon For Finding Content!
However, there is a much better option for finding amazing content on a day-to-day basis within your niche for building a massive business and generating an income full-time…
The #1 secret weapon is called…
Buzzsumo is a completely legal and ethical tool for helping you to locate the best articles for BIG targeted traffic to your site.
How this platform works is incredibly effortless.
You use the “content research” feature for typing in keywords related to your niche, and it analyzes what content performs best (in terms of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ shares) for topics and your competitors.
In addition, you can even select the “Trending Now” tab for hot topics in your industry within the last 24 hours without having to look up keywords for ideas.
This tool can certainly save you a ton of time and help you to cut out a lot of the trash on the web.
Buzzsumo is awesome for helping you make a lot of money, but it can be pricey, especially if your funds are tight.
But having said that, it’s worth every penny!
However, there are 2 very important factors to bear in mind when implementing the content curation strategy.
Firstly, don’t just ‘copy n paste’ articles on to your blog because not only will it be classed as “plagiarism”, but also your content won’t get ranked high in Google because it’s “duplicated”.
In fact, your whole blog would face getting deranked – basically, dumped like a sack of potatoes by Google!
The duplication of content won’t do you any favors when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The end result will be ZERO traffic and ZERO sales!
But it is okay to copy content word-for-word if you’re shooting a video for Youtube. Perhaps it would also be a great idea to include your own video intro and conclusion.
Secondly, always link back to the original article sources within your content, whether you’ve published a blog post or created a Youtube video or Podcast.
It’s important to give the article writers credit as well as sending a little extra free traffic their direction as a way of Thanking them for helping you.
The Bottom Line…
When it comes to content curation, it’s perfectly okay to use other people’s content and heading titles for your own blogs and videos, etc. But never just copy and paste content on to your blog that doesn’t belong to you, and always give credit where it’s due.
Implementing the curation strategy is a powerful form of content marketing if you approach it the smart way and don’t take any shortcuts. Cutting corners and generally being a “lazy marketer” will never allow you to accomplish success on the internet. Period.
Using the resources (especially Buzzsumo) I’ve recommended in this article won’t just allow you start an online biz from scratch (if you’re just starting out as a blogger) but will enable you to find a TON of amazing ideas to blog about and build a phenomenal business from.
Whether you’re an affiliate marketer or have your own products to sell online, the curation technique can work for bringing you new customers on a daily basis and creating a full-time income during the long run.
Work hard and you will succeed, my friend!
But before you go – wanna learn how I’m building a profitable affiliate marketing business through blogging, huh?…
