Howdy, thanks for dropping in on my Affilorama review!
Apparently, it’s the biggest affiliate marketing training community on the web.
One, that helps you to make enough money online for kissing your day job goodbye!
But does the platform really do what it says on the tin or is it a load of hyped up baloney, huh?
Grab this detailed review to find out…
Quick Overview:
Name: Affilorama.
Website: affilorama.com.
Cost: $19, $197 & $997.
Owner: Mark Ling.
My Score: 6/10.
Summary:
In a nutshell: Affilorama is a platform that provides newbies with the resources for creating successful affiliate marketing businesses.
But the problem is, not only is there far too much training to get through (without solid steps to actually getting started)…
But the member support community just isn’t active enough from my point of view.
However, with that said, there are far worse programs out there lol.
But before you continue reading any further for the lowdown on Ling’s program…
Check out my #1 rated community for all the tools, training, and 24/7 support you need for building a lucrative affiliate marketing Biz from scratch.
Table of Contents
What’s Affilorama All About, You Ask?
The Affilorama affiliate marketing platform was born in 2005.
And is intended to show you how to get a successful online business underway.
It has certainly been operating for a good number of years, wouldn’t you agree?
Mark Ling’s program provides you with training videos, tools, and community support.
So you can make money online and tell your boss to take a hike (in a polite kinda way) lol.
But is the platform really worth the investment, that’s the question?
Before we get to that bit, I’m gonna give you a walk-through of it…
Firstly, Who is Affilorama Geared Towards?
The program is designed for anyone wanting to earn an income on the web within the affiliate marketing arena.
With the various membership levels available, it’s for both inexperienced newbies who wanna learn how to build a business from scratch.
And also seasoned marketers wanting to branch out their businesses.
However, if you’re looking for a way to “get-rich-fast”, then it isn’t the one for you.
Because building a successful business on the internet takes heaps of time and effort.
What do You Get Inside Affilorama, Training-wise?
Once you activate your membership, you get 2 free chapters of the “Pathway To Passive” guide.
Which is a blueprint for helping you to build passive profit websites.
The 2 pages contain info on how it pays to be lazy, where Mark talks about his journey.
He also discusses why most affiliates fail, plus 4 steps to affiliate success.
Mr. Ling then offers you the full guide for $19 which is fairly reasonable, in my book. *PUN intended*
The Downside:
It feels like you’re pressurized into buying the guide, especially when there’s a countdown timer in your members’ area.
Next up, there’s a “Get Started” pack to download which is designed to help you get up and running as an affiliate.
Inside the 32-page PDF, you’ll learn about:
- Affiliate marketing
- The 4 steps to building a successful website
- Picking a niche
- Email marketing
- Getting website visitors
- And how to make more sales.
I must admit, the PDF report gives you lots of invaluable info and recommends some great resources for starting an online business.
The Downside:
You get no website and there are no “actionable” steps for getting an affiliate Biz set up either.
In addition, there’s a bunch of lessons on various aspects of Internet Marketing.
The lessons cover market research, content creation, site building, marketing ideas, SEO + PPC, and affiliate outsourcing.
Within each lesson, you’ll discover numerous walk-through articles with screenshots and video tutorials on a wide range of topics.
Some lesson topic examples:
There are more than 70 in-depth articles for you to get your head around! Happy Learning!
The Downside:
While the lessons/topics deliver tremendous amounts of value…
There’s just too much info for a newbie to absorb all at once. It’s gonna make your head explode with “info overload” lol.
Ever heard the saying “can’t see the wood for the trees“?
Well, that’s the problem with the ‘AR’ lessons – there are too many damn trees!
Now, with Wealthy Affiliate’s free starter account – you not only get your hands on 1 free WordPress website.
But also 10 easy-to-follow step-by-step video lessons for actually starting a business on the net.
See WA’s “Getting Started” lessons:
I’m sure you’ll agree with me that following 10 simple newbie-friendly lessons (with a website included)…
Is much better than getting lost in the woods with 70 chock-a-block articles, right?

When it comes to advanced training with ‘AR’, there’s the ‘AffiloBlueprint‘.
Which you’ll need to buy if you actually want to start a web-based business and learn how to make money.
AffiloBlueprint is designed as a step-by-step system to help earn you an income in the long-term.
It’s a bunch of tutorial videos that show you how to build profitable niche websites, apply traffic strategies, and generally optimize your blogs for sales.
Plus there’s a private members’ forum for extra support.
What’s Available Inside Affilorama in Terms of Tools?
There’s a couple of platforms available inside ‘AR’ that can really help you to scale your online biz and shoot for the moon.
#1: AffiloTools
This one’s a free platform (at the time of writing) for helping you to improve your rankings in the search engines.
By providing an in-depth analysis of your site.
AffiloTools integrates with Google Analytics, Bing, Facebook Twitter, MOZ, SEMrush, Clickbank, Enom, and NameCheap.
You can do all kinds of stuff like:
- Checking your website ranking
- Indexed pages
- Clickbank earnings
- Likes and Retweets
- Spying on your competitors’
- Building backlinks
- And check the overall health of your site.
==> See The Tool I Use For #1 Google Rankings!
#2: AffiloJetpack
AffiloJetpack has been designed as the ultimate system for big money-making machines.
But it’s a bit pricey, in my opinion.
Inside it, Mark gives you a series of done-for-you components that are ready to plug n’ play for success.
You get:
- 90+ pre-written emails
- Reports for building your subscriber list
- 5 WordPress websites with hosting included for 12 months
- 20 cheat sheets for creating content
- And 18 profitable niches to choose from.
Help & Support, is it Accessible Inside Affilorama?
When it comes to getting support, there’s a number of options available to you.
Firstly, there are FAQ pages as well as popular articles to read through.
Secondly, you can contact the ‘AR’ team via email or phone.
Thirdly, there’s a forum for you to hang out with other members and pick their brains on different subjects.
The Downside:
Considering Affilorama has been around since 2005.
And boasts about being “the largest” community of affiliate marketers, the forum doesn’t appear to be very active.
Most replies to member questions are either 12 – 24 hours, 1 day – 5 days, 1 week – 3 weeks, or 1 month – 3 months ago.
UGH.
With the 2 million member community here, affiliate marketers answer your questions within just minutes!
Even sometimes just seconds if you’re on live chat!!
Unfortunately, a “live chat” function is one of the important support elements missing from Mark’s program for chin-wagging with other members and getting quick support.
How Many Dollars Will Affilorama Cost?
To get started with isn’t gonna cost you a single cent.
AffiloTools is free, but I’m unsure whether Ling has any plans to slap a price tag on it at some point.
The Pathway To Passive guide costs $19.
(Although, the price increased to $37 just hours after I joined ‘AR’. Tut Tut, Mark Ling!)
AffiloBlueprint is $197.
AffiloJetpack is a WHOPPING $997!
To be fair, the prices for ‘AR’ seem reasonable. It’s only the most expensive product that’s gonna cost you a chunk of change.
PROS vs CONS of Affilorama
PROS
- It’s free to get started
- There’s a $0 cost “getting started” guide
- The free membership provides heaps of value
- Tools & advanced training for building a successful business
- Help & support is available (including a forum)
- Products offer money-back guarantees
CONS
- You’ll get some serious “info overload” as a free member
- To get websites/real training for starting/building a biz, you must buy the products
- There’s no live chat feature for engaging with other members
- The community forum is barely active
Final Take: Is Affilorama Worth it?…
Overall, I think Affilorama is a fantastic platform for the tools, training, and support you need for creating a successful empire on the web.
So, yeah, I do believe that Mark Ling’s program can help you to fire your boss…
(IF you apply the training and use the resources available).
However, the only thing that really bugs me with AR is the sheer volume of information that your brain’s gonna absorb as a free starter member.
Because 70+ articles along with video tutorials are way over the top, in my opinion.
From a newbie perspective, your marketing info-intake should just cover the basics of affiliate marketing and starting a business, in general.
This is something that Ling needs to address to avoid confusing the hell out of his newbie members and making heads spin.
Is There a Better Alternative Than Affilorama?…
You bet there is!
Don’t get me wrong, I hold nothing against Affiloaram because it’s a great platform for newbies.
But it’s just too overwhelming with not enough step-by-step directions, for my liking.
So if you want a more simplistic platform…
One, that equips you with websites, tools, over-the-shoulder training & 24/7 support for creating a lucrative affiliate marketing Biz from scratch…

Your Friend, Neil 😀
If you have any questions, thoughts or experiences with AR you’d like to share – We’d LOVE to hear from you below…
Hi Neil!
Great review about Affilorama. The pros and cons have definitely made my mind clear that Wealthy Affiliate is way better.
I am just starting my online business in WA and everything seems to work well. Thanks again for this post, it inspired me to work more on my websites because I have the best website program that I can use to make money which is WA.
John
Hey, John!
Cheers, man! 🙂
I do believe that AR has the potential to be just as great as WA, but it depends if Ling is prepared to put in that extra effort. For the length of time that AR has been operational, you would expect it to be the best/biggest affiliate community. But obviously, WA has won the top award for that!
That’s awesome! You’re definitely in great hands with WA, and I’m glad this review is an inspiration.
Hi Neil,
Very informative review of Affilorama. I looked into them almost a year ago and you’re right, they are legit, but I’m not a big fan of up-sells and it seems they have some decent training.
The up-sells aren’t a deal breaker, but I was wondering if you have any other better recommendations than Affilorama, especially for people who are new to working online.
Thanks for your recommendations btw.
Todd
Hello, Todd!
Cheers, man! 😀
Yeah, I agree, AR does provide some great training. And it would be better if Mark included everything for just one membership cost rather than charging for multiple products which can be off-putting for some folks.
For the best place to start and build a successful online business, my #1 recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate.
It’s a pleasure, man!
Neil
Hi Neil,
I had a look at Affilorama a while back and found it to be a legitimate affiliate marketing training program. However, I really didn’t appreciate the upsells.
The other problem I found was that some of the training information wasn’t kept up to date, I would expect a program like this to be updated constantly.
That said, it’s good to see a program that gives a fair amount of information for free and includes money back guarantees with paid services.
So, for me, there are some good points. Although, I think a much better option is your recommendation, Wealthy Affiliate, where I know from my own experience you have all the tools you need, excellent training and 24/7 support for a small monthly fee. For me the choice between the two is easy!
Thanks for the great review.
Peter
Hey, Peter! 🙂
AR is certainly legit and I also know how you feel when it comes to the upgrades.
Having looked at AR’s training recently, I didn’t come across any outdated stuff (unless I missed something lol). But no doubt Mark has made some updates to AR since when you last tried it.
Indeed, you do get plenty of value from the free starter membership (even if you will suffer from info overload) and there’s no risk when you upgrade to the advanced products. So on that note, AR is still worth joining, in my opinion.
But like you say, WA is the best option here!
No problem!
Thanks for the review on Affilorama. I’ve been asked about this a few times and couldn’t provide a good answer to whether it’s good or not.
What they offer sounds great but it does cost a lot. Up-sells can destroy someone before they even begin. I know this because it happened to me a long time ago. Thinking you have made your investment only to find out that you need to invest 10x more can turn everything upside down.
Glad you pointed this out because this is probably the most important cautionary about Affilorama.
I’ll gladly stick to WA and recommend it as my own #1 affiliate community.
~ Peace!
You’re welcome, Damien! 🙂
The only way to answer people’s questions is to dip your toe in the water with AR.
Like I say, I think the first two products are very reasonable in terms of price. But the third product will cost you an arm and a leg, especially if your budget is tight.
But I do agree that expensive products aren’t good for the bank account when you’re just beginning your affiliate journey. If you’re gonna fork out nearly $1K, it will take a short while to cover that fee with profits.
As a novice, your costs need to be kept low.
Cool, WA is a no-brainer!
Hello, Neil! A great review and I guess that Affilorama would look pretty attractive if Wealthy Affiliate wasn’t around? So that makes people very lucky to have that as a choice. I agree with you though the upsells really put me off especially if you don’t know whether you need them or not.
The 5 done for you websites for $200 each (AffiloJetpack) sounds like a good deal but then, having the time to run them all, building content and getting them ranked would take a lot of work and not something beginners would want to take on. The $197 AffiloBlueprint sounds like a deal if you can work by yourself and don’t need to ask too many questions, which may be ok if you had some experience.
But even though I know how to build websites, I would still have many questions as I am constantly learning new things and having a forum to ask questions and get answers is powerful and underrated until you have experienced it such as they have at WA. Which I see is your number one pick also.
Great overview. 🙂
Hey, Peter!
HAHA, yeah I think AR would get a look in if WA didn’t exist!!
I think the only way to know whether AR’s upsells would be beneficial is to take the plunge. If they’re not your cup of tea, then you can get refunds.
Indeed, it would take a massive amount of time and effort to build 5 WordPress blogs by yourself. But the AffiloJetpack provides you with cheat sheets which you can use for outsourcing and hire writers to produce the content for you in order to make blogging easier on your part.
Indeed, AffiloBlueprint can be a great starting point if you prefer to do all the work yourself. The product also comes with its own private members’ forum in case you’re stuck. 🙂
As a newbie or even experienced internet marketer, I guess we are always gonna have questions about building an online business because it’s a big learning curve. AR does also provide a forum with its free membership, where you can ask questions and also read other posts/replies from members. But the only downside is that it’s not consistently active which Mark needs to fix.
But WA is the best community for support without a doubt!
Cheers.
Great review of Affilorama Neil!
I have heard of this program before, but your review sheds a lot more light on how it works for me.
I like the idea of the free trial to start with, but the upsells certainly sound a bit pricey for my liking!
I understand having upsells as part of your marketing funnel, but they should really be stand-alone products.
It seems like you are only getting part of the product to start with and you have to pay extra to have the complete package!
I agree there are definitely better options out there to learn how to make money online!
John
Cheers, and glad to hear it, John! 🙂
I think starting out with the ‘Pathway To Passive’ guide and AffiloBlueprint/AffiloTools won’t leave holes in your pockets. But you’ll definitely need plenty of spare cash if you want the AffiloJetpack package.
It would be much better for everyone if all the products are included with a singular membership fee, so you’re getting everything you need for success in one place.
Cheers.
Great review on Affilorama. I personally haven’t heard of it, but now I am well-informed thanks to you. I completely agree that products that are designed to teach you how to make money online shouldn’t contain upsells, because that just means the original product I was sold didn’t live up to its expectations.
Diana
Thanks, Diana! That’s great! 😀
I think it depends on the quality of training platform you choose. There are some shoddy affiliate training programs that sell you extra products to make any real progress. These types of programs are usually found within the Warrior+Plus marketplace lol.
But with AR, I genuinely believe that you can succeed with AffiloBlueprint for $197 if you’re prepared to do the work yourself. AffiloJetpack for $997 is simply a shortcut to success which is awesome if you have the funds.
Hi Neil,
Thanks for your review regarding Affilorama, you’ve certainly gone into great detail here.
The free training sounds OK but I can’t stand it when there are so many membership options, so you have to go for the top option to survive in my view and that’s too risky for me.
I have heard a lot of good reviews regarding Wealthy Affiliate as you have shown.
Could you please tell me how thorough their training is as I’m pretty new to affiliate marketing?
I don’t want to get into something and regret it.
Thanks,
Simon.
Howdy, Simon!
It’s no problem at all, and Thank You!
The upgrades aren’t badly priced with AR. It’s just the last one that you’ll need to rob a bank for lol. I also totally get where you’re coming from as a newbie because it’s a lot of money to fork out. But having said that, AR does offer money-back guarantees on its products, so there’s no risk on your part if things don’t pan out with the program.

I’m a mother of three young children so your review of Affilorama does interest me a lot. There are so many different affiliate platforms out there that it’s hard to navigate through them.
I like that you did a side by side comparison. I too like Wealthy Affiliate and all the support that it provides.
Gosh! You certainly have your hands full as a mom! It’s great that you’re looking for online work at home opportunities, so I’m glad you found my review. 🙂
In fact, there are too many affiliate training programs on the net! And yeah, I agree with you because I have sampled numerous platforms – some legit and others online scams. You end up spending so much time and money going from one program to another, and not actually getting anywhere lol.
SWEET, WA ROCKS!
Hi Neil,
It is obvious that while Affilorama tries to teach people all of the tactics regarding being an affiliate marketer, put side-by-side with Wealthy Affiliate this company does not quite measure up. The fact that the starter membership is free – yet not quite offering the same value that is offered at Wealthy Affiliate is positive proof that your grade of 6 out of 10 is spot on.
I also quickly noted that for the premium membership price at Affilorama you could only have hosted 5 domain websites. Gee at WA, it would be up to 50 websites hosted! Add to the “upsells” that Mark Ling the founder tries to milk out of members in order to provide them with better “service” rings of selfishness on his part – or should I call it for what it is a money grab.
There are much worse opportunities out there however compared to Afflilorama, programs that are absolute scams where an opportunity for you to build a legit online business would be about 5 % success rate. Still, for the price of being a member of this company, it simply is not the best around.
Thank you for your review!
Jeff
Hey, Jeff!
Affilorama sure has a lot of growing to do before the program can stand as tall as WA!
I do also agree that WA hosts a lot more WordPress websites than AR! The upsells with AR aren’t as expensive as they used to be, but it would still be more beneficial to AR members if Ling just charges one monthly or annual cost for everything you need for success.
As for the “money grabbing” part. No comment lol.
Like you say, there are much worse and even better affiliate marketing communities for tools, training, and support. It’s simply a case of finding the best platform. HINT: The best one’s here. 😉
You’re welcome, Jeff!
Hi Neil,
Thanks for providing this overview, I’ve heard some good things about Affilorama and haven’t really heard any real negatives. From what I’ve heard from others it is a pretty good program just a touch on the expensive side of things!
Based on what others have told me, the offering from Wealthy Affiliate is quite a bit better! I think both are good but as your chart comparing the two shows WA is the superior product and at a slightly better price.
Hello, Nate!
It’s no problem at all, man!
There’s no denying that AR is a great platform, but there are definitely a number of negative aspects of it (as highlighted in my review).
As a member of WA myself, I can confirm that WA is more cost-effective and has more to offer in terms of value than AR.
I have not personally ever heard of Affilorama before, but being a savvy consumer, I always like to check out the competition to make sure that I am in fact getting my money’s worth with the best service available.
However, I have heard of other programs that are similar out there, that do have a lot of upsells that they don’t tell you about until after you join. To me, that’s like a car dealer saying “you can buy this new car for $20k, but in order to get the tires, you have to pay an additional $50/mth” – That’s crazy.
Things should be what they are and there shouldn’t be any hidden fees to upgrade more than something like a software program going from basic to pro.
Well, at least now AR’s on your radar, Nicki! 😛
I can’t fault you for comparing training programs because you want more bang for your buck and not get ripped off, at the end of the day.
Indeed, there are numerous platforms with “hidden” upsells, but the reason why they do it is to get you through the door with the belief that membership is 100% free or dirt-cheap.
I agree with you on the whole upselling tactic because platforms should be transparent from the offset.
