Howdy, thanks for stopping by my honest review of TimeBucks!
Is it just your average ‘GPT’ (Get Paid To) website that pays you a pittance?
Or can you really turn your downtime into some decent extra cash in your pockets (or purse)?
Only time will tell.
You’re definitely in the right place at the right time, so enjoy reading THIS timely review (sorry for the PUNS lol)!…
Quick Overview
Name: TimeBucks (TB).
Website: timebucks.com.
Cost: Free.
My Score: 5/10.
Verdict: Legit.
Summary:
Very similar to my #1 recommended ‘GPT’ opportunity – TimeBucks rewards you for completing certain fun tasks online.
Even beard-growing (for you guys lol), but more on that in my full review below.
But saying that, there are some limitations to the program, which also means that your earnings can be limited.
In my opinion, the absolute best way to earn with ‘TB’ is if you recruit an army of referrals who earn the rewards for you. 😉
Because it’s the smartest way to potentially earn anything decent from these types of opportunities.
But if you’d still prefer to earn the rewards yourself and make a few dollars here and there, then that’s also fine.
‘TB’ offers some sort of opportunity for anyone, I guess.
But first things first…

What’s TimeBucks All About?
TimeBucks is slightly different from other cash reward sites.
Because as well as getting paid to take part in normal web-based tasks like watching videos, voting, installing mobile apps, and sharing content…
‘TB’ rewards you for taking selfies, viewing galleries, drawing photos, AND…
Growing a beard!
“WTF?!”
YEP, you read that right! LOL.
Growing facial hair has gotta be one of the most random and craziest tasks I’ve ever come across for making a little cash online.
So, what do you reckon to the chucklesome manly activity?
But if you’re gonna get paid for turning that clean-shaven face or stubble into a full-on lumberjack beard…
Then why the heck not, hey?
I digress.
The great thing about ‘TB’ (in my opinion) is that it also deposits cash into your PayPal account on weekly basis.
Well, providing that you meet the required minimum threshold of $10 before each payday, of course.
How Much is Your Time Worth With TimeBucks?
To give you a fair idea on the type of money you can make with this program.
And whether it really is worth exchanging your free time for dollars on the net…
I’m gonna run you through the daily tasks and how much each one pays you.
Right off the bat, you make your first $1 just for signing up which takes about 30 seconds.
And then comes the following ways to earn…
#1 View Content
For every TimeCave, WittyFeed, Other or Sponsors slideshow you watch, you can make anywhere from $0.001 to $0.007.
The amounts also depend on whether you’re using a Desktop or Mobile.
However, the offers available are very limited, and some even expire too. Ugh.
So, probably not one of the greatest starts to making money with ‘TB’.
#2 Free BitCoin
If you join a free BitCoin website (via the ‘TB’ owner’s affiliate link) and roll every hour (8 times per day for a whole 12 months)…
You can apparently have $5,000 worth of BC!
But with all the BC hype recently, it’s not a money-making method I trust or recommend.
In fact, I wished this Sh*tCoin stuff would just bore off, to be totally honest with you.
#3 Surveys
You can take the ‘TB’ daily poll for $0.01 and also share your opinions with various companies:
- Poll Fish
- SaySoForGood
- Peanut Labs
- Tap Research
- Opinion Surveys
- Adscendmedia
- Revenue Wall
- Other surveys
Your payments per survey can vary anywhere from $0.05 to $5.
But unfortunately, what you tend to find with the majority of surveys is that they can take up a lot of your time.
And you usually make less than $1 per survey.
Also, in my experience with survey sites, you can sometimes get “screened out”…
Either before you participate or when you’re part of the way through a survey.
So they can be frustrating and tedious tasks, and aren’t as lucrative as you might imagine them to be.
#4 Watch Videos
Get paid between $0.001 and $0.020 for each YouTube video you watch.
This also includes subscribing to the ‘TB’ YouTube channel.
However, videos are extremely limited. Only 21 videos were available on the day I joined the program.
So, again, it’s not a very good money-maker, in my book.
#5 Take Photos
This is the part where you grow a beard and send in your pics for cash.
However, to qualify for a small payment of only $15, you must grow facial hair for 60 days and send a selfie every day.
It sounds like bags of fun…
But 2 months is a long time to wait for 15 bucks (just enough for a couple of coffees from Starbucks).
#6 Refer
You can get paid for anyone who you personally refer and also for the folks who your referrals recruit, 5 levels deep.
It’s basically an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) opportunity.
However, you only make up to 15% commissions from the earnings of your referrals.
But this is what you can earn on the 5 levels:
- Tier 1 – 15%
- 2nd Tier – 2%
- 3rd Tier – 2%
- 4th Tier – 2%
- 5th Tier – 1%
There’s also a referral earnings calculator so you can have fun working out your potential income.
which could be $10,000s per month (apparently).
BUT unless you and your referrals either know a TON of people to recruit…
Or have internet marketing skills, then you’re not gonna make much money at all.
PSST! If you do wanna learn the skills for generating a full-time income from referring a boat load of members to ‘TB’…

#7 Other Offers
There are various free and paid offers to complete. You can earn from $0.008 to $7 per offer, depending on the type.
Unfortunately, the offers are limited and you must invest money to get the bigger payouts.
What’s even more ridiculous with some offers is the fact that payouts can be less than the money you invest.
#8 Offer Walls
These are basically a combination of some tasks mentioned above (free/paid offers, surveys, videos, and slideshows).
You can earn anywhere from 0.5 to thousands of cents for taking part and registering for stuff.
But unfortunately, to reap the bigger rewards, you must invest in the paid offers.
#9 Free Money
Simply hit the roll button once every 24 hours and when you get a lucky number, you can win from $0.001 to $100.
But seeing the “Last 50 Big Prize Winners” table – most members win $0.01 and $0.10, with the odd few folks winning $1.
In addition, you’ll make 50% of your level-1 referral winnings.
#10 Once Off
You can make a few dollars extra from the following tasks combined:
- Download & install Google Chrome extension – $0.15
- Like ‘TB’ on Facebook – $0.01
- Register 5 free domain names – $0.10
- Record a promo video for ‘TB’ – $3
- Subscribe to 2 different ‘TB’ YouTube channels – $0.05 ($0.025 each)
#11 Mining
You can receive earnings for mining cryptocurrencies.
You simply keep a tab open within ‘TB’ and let your computer automatically mine blocks of coins worth $0.002.
Apparently, you get paid US dollars. But the owner is vague when it comes to your actual earnings.
Does TimeBucks Provide You With Support?
Yep, you do get some level of support with ‘TB’.
You can either browse the FAQ page, submit a question to the support staff…
Or connect with the team via their Facebook page or YouTube channel, which has about 130,000 subscribers (at the time of writing).
In addition, you can mingle with other members via the live chat feature.
PROS vs CONS of TimeBucks
PROS
- It’s free to become a member
- Get $1 for signing up
- Make some money from various tasks
- Get paid weekly via PayPal
- Support & live chat is available
CONS
- Low payouts from a lot of free tasks
- A number of tasks are limited
- You must invest in offers for bigger rewards
- You’ll spend the majority of your free time doing mundane activities
- It’s difficult to make any decent money (unless you refer TONS of members)
Final Conclusion: Is TimeBucks a Scam?…
If you want to earn SOME spare change from your time on the internet, then TimeBucks is a LEGIT opportunity that definitely pays.
But if you’re hoping to strike gold with this program and become financially free from simply partaking in activities…
Then you have another thing coming.
However, I think you will be lucky to make at least $40 – $50 per month from completing free tasks.
Because not only are some tasks limited, but they also offer you extremely low payouts.
It’s the same story with pretty much all ‘GPT’ sites that are free to join, sadly.
To earn anything worthwhile with ‘TB’, you must sacrifice the majority of your free time…
By completing as many offers as possible and becoming a lean mean recruiting machine.
To be quite honest with you, it would actually be more profitable to rake up the leaves in your Auntie Mabel’s back yard.

Do you have any questions or experiences with ‘TB’ to share with us? Please drop your thoughts below…
Refused to pay me but sent me an inbox on their site asking me to provide proof of payment. After I chatted with the site admin and told him I would have to state on their facebook page that I never received payment, he put a hold of 30 days on my account.
Very poor judgment on my part trying to earn on this site.
Sorry to hear about your experience with TB, Brock! 🙁
I have read complaints from members of lots of different GPT sites for not getting paid for various reasons. There are too many “Terms & Conditions” in place with these things for my liking.
If you’ve already put the time into tasks on TB and reached the payment threshold, I don’t see why the site admin wouldn’t pay you and would also need proof from you since they would already hold that info. It sounds a little strange to me.
Hi, Neil. Wow! That’s a great explanation of why it’s so hard to make money on the internet. I do a network marketing business (Market America) that is not the MLM tiered system because you get paid the same 100% no matter where you are in the chain, as long as you accumulate your points.
So after being in the business 2 years, I’m earning 300 to 600 per month. Not bad, but also doesn’t make me independently wealthy yet! I think the trick is to continue building and stay focused.
Thanks for your review of Wealthy Affiliate. It seems like a lot to learn, but I find that what you put in, is what you get out in most cases. Thanks again for an awesome review of TimeBucks. I probably will avoid most of those low paying methods. Best, Millie
Hey, Millie!
Glad you think so! 🙂
Good stuff! At least there’s someone earning from MLM lol. You may not be quite there yet but I guess you’re making enough money from your business to cover the bills or to be able to afford a few extra luxuries for you and your family. I agree, success is all about being consistent.
You’re welcome! WA ROCKS!
Yup, there’s certainly a lot that goes into building a successful online biz. It is challenging, but the affiliate income you earn from your efforts makes it so worth it in the long term.
TB is great for those who don’t mind being underpaid, but affiliate marketing is really where the money’s at.
Neil
Thanks for writing such an in-depth review on TimeBucks. It’s really easy to get sucked into the marketing and hype about how easy it is, so I really appreciate your thorough review and breaking it down. When you look at it that way you have to invest a lot of time for not much return!
Also, respect that you have left up the TB reply and yours as well. It shows that you’re transparent and also creates an interesting discussion! 🙂
No problem, Amanda!
I do totally agree with you on all the “hype” associated with making money online. There are far too many programs out there promising massive profits from hardly any effort at all.
Unfortunately, people also allow themselves to be exploited by ‘Get Paid To’ sites because they’re simply not aware of far more lucrative opportunities on the net. At the end of the day, it’s only the ‘GPT’ program owners who reap the real financial benefits.
Well, I do think it’s only fair to allow everyone to have their say on TimeBucks, even the owner. 😉 It helps to provide insightful discussions, and especially ones that help folks to make informed decisions.
Who would have ever thought that growing facial hair would be a way to make money online LOL… This really was something that caught my attention because it is rare to see something like this online. Most of the other offers are about the same. I would not consider wasting my time in doing offers that are less than a dollar, to be honest. Thanks for the review, it was very insightful.
HA HA… Yeah, I know! Well, I guess growing a beard and sharing it online is one way for guys to attract a little extra female attention too. 😉
You’ve gotta hand it to TB for being unique. It sure stands out from the crowd of other ‘GPT’ sites.
I don’t blame you for not wanting to waste your time for little returns from GPT programs. A weekend paper round job would definitely be more worthwhile lol.
No worries, Kendrick!
Hey Neil!
Thanks for the review. Co-Founder Anthony here.
We are working hard to add more tasks in every category, with the introduction of our advertiser system which is coming very soon.
You need to keep in mind TimeBucks is not a get rich quick scheme and is not aimed to replace your day job. It’s for those who want to earn some extra cash on the side, or after hours, or on days they have off work, or whilst they are looking for a job. Comparing it with Wealthy Affiliate is like comparing apples to oranges, they are two completely different things.
Either way, thanks for the honest review! I invite you to revisit TimeBucks in a few months to make an updated post about our cool new features 🙂
Hi, Anthony!
You’re welcome! 🙂
Glad to hear that improvements to TB are on the way because the lack of free tasks at the moment really limits the money people can make with your program.
“Get Rich Quick” is a myth anyway, so folks should never believe in it online. Yeah, I can see how TB is just a way to earn some “spare cash” and it’s the same as every other GPT program.
I also see where you’re coming from with WA vs TB. But I may also argue the fact that both are ways to make money online, and I’m simply pointing folks to the best option (WA) for turning their time into real money.
No problem, Anthony! I always aim to make my reviews honest and fair.
Yeah, I’ll certainly pay TB another visit and update my review to reflect the new changes.
